If you tuned into this week’s episode of my podcast, How We’ll Live, you heard a few things I’m loving right now. I’m always looking for new things to listen to, watch, read; things that will make me laugh and help me learn because isn’t that what life is all about?
Here’s what I’ve been into the past few weeks….
LISTEN
I am OBSESSED. Actually obsessed with Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert. I watched Punk’d and Parenthood, and yet never thought I would hear myself say “I am obsessed with Dax Shepard.” BUT you guys…he’s such a thoughtful interviewer and really pulls the deep, emotional, vulnerable stuff out of his guests. He talks to actors, doctors, psychologists, and more about life, love, and what it all means. Have a listen here.
While listening to Dax, I stumbled across Life is Short with Justin Long and his chat with Max Greenfield from New Girl. They shoot the shit about life and I was laughing outloud on my morning walk. Grab it here.

This article in the NY Times, Food is Killing Too Many of Us really caught my eye. I got my health coaching certificate back in 2013 from Integrative Nutrition and during my year taking the program and 4 years working there, I gained a whole new perspective on how food affects us. It changes everything and diet and lifestyle can prevent many of the leading causes of death in our country. Yet the health care system spends trillions of dollars every year on healthcare that does not include preventative measures. RANT.
SHOP
Speaking of good and healthy food. Have you heard of Misfits Market? I tried them a couple of months ago and loved what I had. I’m always looking to try new things in the kitchen and Misfits delivers a box of “ugly” organic veggies that the grocery stores would have otherwise thrown away. The whole box which lasted me well over a week only cost $22 – well under how much I would have spent at the grocery store. If you want to try it you can get 50% off your first box if you purchase before 9/23/2019 use this link!

Since I’m officially a citizen (as of January 2016) and with the 2020 election right around the corner, I’ve realized how important it is to me to be an informed citizen. I want to know about the issues that are going on in the world and how I can make a difference and stand up for the things I believe it. It feels really good and empowering to have an informed opinion and engage in conversations with people about these important topics. But let’s be honest…I skim the Skimm, but here are a few ways I get my news. NPR Upfirst Podcast, NYT Morning Briefing, and The Skimm.
I’ve been trying to slow down and do less because when I do less I actually do more things with actual meaning. A few ways that I calm down are meditating. I chatted about this in my podcast episode with Chris Aimone. If you’d be interested in trying the Muse headband that his company makes you can save 15%. Use this link.
I also love to meditate with the Calm app. I use it [almost] every morning right when I wake up. I feel like it sets me up for a much better day
Well…that’s what I’ve been lovng the past few weeks! I would love to hear what you’ve been up to and things that you think I should check out!
