**What I’m loving & learning is a series where I share all of the things I’m, you guessed it, loving and learning in the past week. It’s really a sneak peek into how I spend my time and is a fun way for me to reflect on everything I did this week. I have a pretty wide variety of likes and interests, so shoot me an email or drop me a DM if there’s something specific you’d like to see or know.**
Don’t forget to listen to this week’s podcast episode with Sarah Hurwitz!
Learn about the Equal Justice Initiative
shows.
As you know I love Ben Platt (if not, get with the program ;-)), so needless to say I spent Friday night bingeing the new season of The Politician is back!
I’ll also be staring Normal People as soon as I finish the book.
13th is incredibly moving & a great way to learn about the history of racism and the criminal justice system in the US.
I’ve been really interested in learning more about the social determinants of health – ie. physical environment, social environment, and health services. This article on Well + Good was great.
Another thing I’ve been wanting to learn more about is collectivism, “a value that is characterized by emphasis on cohesiveness among individuals and prioritization of the group over the self.” I think it’s important to embrace this for the bettering of humanity, but how do we get there? What does it all mean? I don’t really know. I only got to this article so far.
podcasts.
Listening to podcasts is how I get the majority of my information…
food.
You may not know as I don’t really share food on here anymore..but I love to eat! Actually – I love all things about food. The way it brings us together — “breaking bread” — shopping for it, creating flavor profiles…to me it is love and joy. In fact, this used to be a FOOD BLOG! Today, I’m more interested in sharing how nutritious food can help us feel great & thrive rather than what I eat personally. I have restrictions based on allergies and autoimmune markers and don’t ever want people to think that’s the right way…you gotta do what works for you, but in the essence of sharing the love of food, here’s a few things I have my eye on.
-
This peach & burrata salad + shrimp — somewhere along the way shrimp became my fav seafood — white wine, grilled shrimp salad. Sign me up!
-
Something along the lines of this is one of my go-tos. Pasta with chicken sausage & arugula (I would take out the onion and add zucchini and popped cherry tomatoes..so good!)
- Not a day goes by without chocolate in my life, and these sweet potato chocolate muffins look insane
- If you love salty crunchy things like me, you’ll love these crispy potato thins by Bonberi. The key to crispy taters? An ICE BATH!
clothes.
Not that you come here for fashion advice, but each morning when I wake up, I realize I have NOTHING to wear. Not that I really need it because I am just working from home, but my apartment gets so hot and I get sweaty. TMI, sorry. Anyways, I’ve been working on a “capsule” wardrobe and have a million returns to make, but I did land on a few things that I love:
-
Kule boyfriend top (expensive, but I will wear it A LOT)
